TeamViewer retained Harris Interactive to do a study that looked at various issues pertaining to the perception of telecommuting. Check out the release. Essentially, the firm found that people think (correctly) that telecommuting is increasing. They want to have the option, and say that they believe they will be more productive if they telecommute. Respondents are willing to give up some interesting things in order to win the right to telecommute (i.e., 20 would cut shopping, 15 percent would forgo half their vacation days, etc.)…Social networking is an important element of telework and telecommuting. InformationWeek looks at the good and the bad…It looks like LightSquared will be kept from launching due to potential interference with GPS devices. The 4G platform could have drastically enlarged competition in the cellular industry…Cisco says that there’s a whole lot of data flying around now, and that the increases during the next year will be huge…The next version of Research in Motion’s PlayBook — the BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0 – is rumored to be coming in about a week. Judging by what has happened to RIM in the past few months, it better be good…Thinking of buying an ultrabook? Don’t do it…at least not yet. There is a report that prices will drop by as much as 30 percent next month.
